Bring Cody’s Whisper Into Your Classroom

Malia Grace, award-winning children’s author of Cody’s Whisper, offers engaging author visits for elementary schools, libraries, classrooms, homeschool groups, and community organizations. Based in Orange County, California, Malia Grace offers engaging children's author visits for elementary schools, libraries, and educational organizations throughout Southern California.

Designed especially for students in grades K–4, Malia’s interactive school author visits combine storytelling, conversation, mindfulness, and the wisdom of nature to explore social-emotional learning themes including self-acceptance, emotional regulation, resilience, empathy, kindness, courage, and trusting your inner voice.

Through Cody’s Whisper, children meet a sensitive young coyote who feels different in a loud world and turns to nature for guidance. Along his journey, the Moon, Sun, Creek, Tree, Owl, Butterfly, Deer, and other forest friends help Cody discover that being quiet, sensitive, or different does not make him weak. His gentle nature can be one of his greatest strengths.

Author visits invite children to become part of Cody’s journey through thoughtful questions, movement, calming practices, nature-inspired reflection, and meaningful conversation. Students leave with a simple but powerful reminder:

You don’t have to be loud to shine.
